James Smith v Frank Bruno (1984) – Original Fight Poster
On 13 May 1984, Britain's unbeaten heavyweight Frank Bruno, with 21 wins from 21 fights, all by knockout, met America's James "Bonecrusher" Smith at Wembley Arena. It was Smith's first fight outside the United States. Bruno was ahead on all three scorecards, but in the tenth and final round Smith trapped him on the ropes and knocked him out, handing Bruno the first defeat of his career. Smith went on to win the WBA heavyweight title in 1986.
